Once Labor Day passes and summer comes to its ceremonial (though not astronomical) end, we enter the “ber” months. Thoughts quickly turn to the variety of holidays that pack the calendar from October to December. Halloween through New Year’s Day is a time of celebration, fun, friend,s and family, lighting up the darkest time of the year. As the pandemic continues, as does the realization that gathering in large groups still won’t be safe, it is easy to feel depressed, as beloved traditions and customs are altered. But a call is going out for folks to go all out this year with their holiday decorations, whatever that holiday might be. A haunted yard for Halloween, an autumnal look for Thanksgiving, and bright lights for Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, and the winter solstice, as we slide into 2021. But also treat yourself by doing it up big in your own home. For help with that, visit Monty’s Christmas, which of course sells a variety of ornaments designed by Christopher Radko, Jim Shore, December Diamonds Mermen, and Old World, but also fine objects and décor for a variety of other holidays. Perhaps most special are the Provincetown-specific ornaments that will grace your tree as a reminder of your vacation or of your beloved hometown.
