A Star Is Born

Photo: Curtis Speer

Another season of Showgirls has come and gone and as is tradition Ryan Landry has chosen a queen who distinguished herself this past summer with inventive performances, taking risks, and representing the rebellious sprit of Provincetown. The evening of crazy acts and dubious distinctions ended with the crowning of Qya Marie as the Showgirl of the Year for 2017. Over the past several years Qya Marie has seriously become a queen to watch as she has commanded the spotlight each time she hits the stage. Whether its belting out “The Acid Queen” with Space Pussy, her scene stealing performance in the Gold Dust Orphans Greece, or her mega talent that conjures comparisons to a young Sylvester, one thing is for certain, this is just the beginning.
