John Edwards opened this popular local hangout in 1948. More than 60 years later, it’s still a family operation. With more than 30 entrées, ranging from ribs to lobster served six different ways, the Governor Bradford takes care of all your culinary needs. Check out their kids’ menu, with choices ranging from the usual burgers, dogs, etc., to more sophisticated
kids’ fish dinners, clam strips, yankee pot roast, or half a steamed lobster, each served with a drink and an ice cream cup for dessert. Meet some of the locals sharing a few specialty appetizers at the bar. You’ll find 20 wines by the bottle or glass, and specialty cocktails and coffees, too. Breakfast is also served, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Governor Bradford is much more than a restaurant. Dine on the patio, drop in for drag karaoke, or visit the bar downstairs, play pool, and enjoy live music or the nightly D.J. New this year is a live music series, Saturday nights from 8-10 p.m.
