The idea first came from personal experience. “When our daughter was born, we moved to Morocco and spent about half our time traveling,” recalls Sidekicks Travel owner Rebecca Saunders. “I started making toys for her that did the same things as our ‘at home’ toys but were small enough to fit in a baggy and come with us anywhere.” And her ideas, she found, worked for other parents, as well. Since May of this year, Saunders has been offering Provincetown that same kind of easy-to-carry-anywhere toys that will keep children entertained for hours on a trip… but will also allow them to continue learning and growing. “People need to be able to have the same quality of time away from home that we would have had at home,” says Saunders. Now on-the-go children can learn, pretend, build, create, draw, and much more with small kits, puzzles, bricks, and books that are roadtrip-ready. The store’s motto is Every Day is an Adventure, and parents will resonate with that feeling—as well as with the myriad ways Sidekicks Travel finds to make it so.
