Single Women’s Weekend Moved to October

The annual spring weekend for single lesbians has been moved to October 13–16, Indigenous Peoples’ Day Weekend and also the start of Women’s Week. Based on information at the time regarding current pandemic protocols, organizers felt it best to move Single Women’s Week to the fall for a more full experience and to operate at 100 percent capacity. As the date approaches, more specific details about events and programming will be announced. Plans are to move the event back to May in 2022. Food and Wine Festival Coming to Provincetown in November

After the devastating year of 2020 the Provincetown Food and Wine Festival will highlight the local food industry and give thanks to those who feed the Outer Cape’s residents and guests. This festival will be an opportunity for restaurants to be the center of attention and it will put a spotlight on Provincetown as a culinary destination, focusing on the sense of community, historical significance, and overall seaside charm that this town has to offer. Scheduled for November 4 through 7 the Provincetown Food and Wine Festival seeks to be an attraction in the fall, a time of year that continues to attract more and more visitors. Fantasia Fair Returns in 2021

After having to cancel Fantasia Fair 2020 due to the pandemic, the longest running transgender event in the country is returning to Provincetown October 17–24. Founded in 1975, Fantasia Fair was conceived by Ariadne Kane and others in Boston’s Cherrystones support group in response to a need for a safe space for “crossdressers and transsexuals” to gather. Provincetown was picked as the host city because of its reputation for tolerance and because it was a center of gay and lesbian culture. Its location at the very end of Cape Cod provided isolation and therefore peace of mind for frightened first-timers. Since it’s founding, Fantasia Fair has grown to become a significant event on Provincetown’s calendar as well as an important resource and advocate for transgender rights.
